21. Things Currently Inspiring me

It's been a while since I talked about the media I am consuming and things currently inspiring me. So here is a list of things i have been enjoying lately

My Seratonin Playlist

I watched a tiktok where a girl stated that she is always in a good mood because always listens to positive upbeat oldies. And while I can't commit to listening to one style of music. I did work on making a playlist of positive upbeat oldies to listen to on my morning commute to school everyday. I'm currently working on it as it is only 40 minutes long right now. The playlist goes from the Ronettes "Be my Baby" to Jack Johnson's "upside down"(I know this is not an oldie). Here is the link if you want to give it a listen.

Billy Joel and 70s California Summer Playlist

On the same theme of music, my Billy Joel phase is back. There's just something about his classics such as "Zanzibar" that make me want to play an air guitar or "uptown girl" that have me dancing around my room. In the same vein, I have discovered a new playlist on tiktok called 70s Southern California Summer. As the weather begins to warm up,  i begin to crave summer. But somethig about this playlist highlights the spring phase we are in. It's summer but more chilled out. There are obvious reasons why they were so chilled out in 1970s California, but this playlist allows me to chill out and celebrate the warmth without having to fully indulge

Book Covers

I recently got a library card to the Dallas public library- something that has been on my to do list for a while. With that, I ventured around looking at books. My brother dragged us to the graphic novel section and I looked around, i was so inspired by all the different book covers. One of my favorites was a grahic novel called Anna. The bright yellow book intrigued me and the tall type with the coverart really drew me in. From a quick glance I could tell the book was about a girl being too tall. Though I didn't rent the book. I plan on coming back for it. Or even buying my own copy

Audio Books

With the acquisition of my library card, I also got access to online book platforms such as libby and hoopla and i feel the world at my fingertips, i have already finished one audio book called "Yinka, Where is your husband". I really love books written by Nigerian authors but I'm trying to expand my wealth of knowledge so I will try and venture out more in the future.
